Asia regional eSIMs: compare your full route

Choose a regional eSIM by checking every destination in your itinerary, not by the word Asia on the label. The four-country family covers Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia and Thailand. The broader Asia-Pacific family has a different destination list, including Vietnam and the Philippines. Bali counts within Indonesia.

Regional plans

One eSIM for several countries. Data and validity are shared across the whole trip and speeds vary by network, so a local SIM stays faster and more stable while you are in this country.

One eSIM per order. Travelling with someone else? Place a second order after this one.

On arrival

Check the plan's installation timing before departure and keep its QR code private. Install using stable Wi-Fi when permitted, then follow the activation instructions. Record when validity starts: a regional plan generally has one shared period for the trip, rather than a new allowance or new expiry each time you cross a border.

Coverage along your route

Review both the destination checklist and the verified network for each stop. Two regional products with the same data allowance may cover different places or use different networks. Airport transit is not the same as a planned stay; if you need data during a stopover, that destination must also be included.

Local or regional?

Compare one regional plan with the combined cost of suitable local plans, including any calls you need. A local tourist offer may include regional roaming already. Nomad and Airalo are useful price references, but their coverage lists differ. Choose the smallest adequate allowance and a validity period that covers the whole route.

Before you connect

Check your exact phone model and carrier lock before purchase. Use stable Wi-Fi and the installation timing shown for your plan. Select the eSIM for mobile data and follow its roaming setting. Keep the QR code private and do not delete the profile while troubleshooting.

An operator's map is a planning reference, not a promise of reception or speed. Buildings, terrain, device support and congestion affect service. We have not field-tested these locations.

Will it work on my phone?

Will your phone take an eSIM?

Three checks, about a minute, before you pay.

  1. 01.

    Dial *#06#

If an EID appears under the IMEI, the phone has an eSIM chip. On iPhone the same number is in Settings, General, About.

  2. 02.

    Make sure it is unlocked

A phone tied to the carrier that sold it refuses other networks, an eSIM included. Your carrier can unlock it, usually free once the contract is paid.

  3. 03.

Check the model sold in your country

Some models ship without eSIM in certain markets, mainland China and Hong Kong most often. The maker’s own list settles it.

Another make?

Search your settings for “eSIM” or “SIM manager”. A phone that can add a plan without a card can take ours.

Questions before buying

Does Asia coverage mean every country in Asia?

No. Read the exact list on the selected product. The four-country family excludes Vietnam and the Philippines. The Asia-Pacific family spans 15 destinations, including some outside Asia; Hong Kong, Taiwan and Macao are listed separately as service destinations. Check every stop before purchasing.

Will an eSIM work on my phone?

Use an unlocked phone that supports eSIM. Check the exact model and sales region with its manufacturer before buying; phones with similar names can differ.

Does a regional plan restart at each border?

No. The data allowance and validity are shared across covered destinations. Check every stop in the selected plan's list, including any stopover where you need mobile data.

Can I make calls or share a hotspot?

Only when the selected product explicitly confirms those features. A data-only plan does not promise a local number or voice minutes. Unconfirmed features are shown as unknown.
