If an EID appears under the IMEI, the phone has an eSIM chip. On iPhone the same number is in Settings, General, About.

Make sure it is unlocked
A phone tied to the carrier that sold it refuses other networks, an eSIM included. Your carrier can unlock it, usually free once the contract is paid.

Check the model sold in your country
Some models ship without eSIM in certain markets, mainland China and Hong Kong most often. The maker’s own list settles it.

Questions before you buy
When do I receive my eSIM?
Right after payment, on your order page: a QR code plus the SM-DP+ address and activation code for manual entry. It usually takes less than a minute.
Can I get a refund?
Yes, if the eSIM does not work in Vietnam and we cannot fix it, or if we fail to deliver it: then you get a full refund. A working eSIM is not refunded, whether or not it has been installed, so check that your phone supports eSIM before you buy. Write to contact@vietsim.com with your order link.
Do I get a Vietnamese phone number?
Plans marked Vietnamese phone number come with a number for incoming calls and SMS. Plans marked Calls included list their minutes on the plan. Plans marked Data only have no calls or SMS.
Who is the seller?
VietSIM is operated by Roamworks Limited 漫行有限公司, Warsaw, Poland. Payments are processed by Stripe; we never see your card details.
Does an eSIM work in Vietnam?
Yes. Vietnamese networks support eSIM, and these plans run on Viettel, VinaPhone and MobiFone. Your phone must support eSIM and must not be locked to a carrier. Install the eSIM before you fly, on Wi-Fi or mobile data, then turn it on for mobile data when you arrive.
When should I install my Vietnam eSIM?
Install it on Wi-Fi or mobile data a day or two before you fly and switch it on for mobile data when you land. Each eSIM can be installed within 30 days of purchase; if your trip starts more than 30 days after you buy, write to us before installing.
Which network should I choose for a Vietnam eSIM?
All three networks cover the cities, beaches and tourist areas with 4G. Viettel also serves many mountain and rural areas, so choose a Viettel plan if your route goes far outside the cities. Otherwise pick the plan whose data and validity fit your trip.
Can I use WhatsApp, Zalo and Google Maps with the eSIM?
Yes. The data works with all apps, including WhatsApp, Zalo, Grab, Google Maps and Facebook. Plans marked Data only have no phone number, so you call and message through apps instead of the phone network.
Where do I buy a Vietnam eSIM?
Online, before you fly, so the data works the moment you land. Ours appears on your order page right after payment. You can also buy a physical SIM at the airport or in a shop in Vietnam, where the line has to be registered to your passport.
How much does mobile data in Vietnam cost?
The plans on this page are priced by trip length, from a few days to a month, and each card shows what that works out to per day. The prices are checked every day and carry the date they were last checked.
Can I keep my own number while I use the eSIM?
Yes, on a phone that holds two lines. Your own SIM stays in the phone for calls and messages, and the eSIM carries the data. Turn roaming data off on your home line so it does not spend money in the background.
What do I do when I land in Vietnam?
Switch mobile data on for the eSIM line and leave your home line on calls and messages only. If nothing connects, choose the network by hand in the settings: Viettel, VinaPhone and MobiFone all appear in the list.
